Ashtanga Vinyasa & Advanced Vinyasa RYT®300 Teacher Training

“Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road.”

–Jack Kerouac, On The Road

What do you need to move further along your road as a yoga teacher? Teaching beyond Short Form Ashtanga? Check. Teaching advanced vinyasa flow? Check. A greater understanding of anatomy and teaching to special populations? Check. Honing in on your unique gifts for teaching? Check. If you are ready to take your teaching to the next level, this training will push you further into your edge of possibility as a practitioner and as a leader in your yoga community. Instead of wishing for stronger teachers in our area, let’s work to become them! We are stronger together.

Meet your Master Facilitators:

Greg will lead us through five weekends in Ashtanga Vinyasa – moving us beyond Ashtanga Short Form and into Primary and Intermediate series of this powerful practice. We will explore asana, cueing and assisting along with traditional Sanskrit and Shloka studies. Tebb has studied the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa method for over 14 years with his teacher Manju Jois and has Jois' blessing to teach into the Advanced series. He has completed a training manual with Jois available on Ashtanga.com which will be one of our required reading titles. Tebb currently teaches and lives in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.

Jimmie began practicing yoga in 1970. She has been teaching yoga since 2002 and completed her Yoga Alliance E-RYT500 in 2014. Jimmie has extensive anatomy training, is a certified personal trainer and has studied therapeutic and restorative yoga. Jimmie’s yoga journey has improved every aspect of her life. She hopes to guide others so that they may find the joy that she has found through yoga. Jimmie will instruct us on making yoga accessible for all populations through the practices of chair yoga, deep stretch and restorative yoga.

Mary Ellen will take us deeper into yoga anatomy and physiology with in-depth studies of the fascia, myofascial release and techniques.  Mary Ellen has over sixteen years of experience as a yoga teacher.  As a facilitator for DwiPada YTT, Mary Ellen draws on her background as an urgent care doctor, her interest in sports medicine and her true delight in teaching anatomy & physiology as it relates to the practice of yoga. She now resides in Payson, AZ with her husband, Vince, and their two dogs, Lilly and Ranger.

Amy will lead the svadhyaya component of the training – taking us deeper into self-study as we embrace our dharma as yoga teachers. Amy will also present the business of yoga and yoga ethics. Amy is honored to be teaching alongside her teacher, Greg Tebb, and she will continue his work in deepening our knowledge of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system. Amy completed her first RYT200 with Greg Tebb and Terry Johnson in 2012 in Ashtanga Vinyasa, which remains her personal practice today. She completed her second RYT200 with Jonny Kest in LifePower Vinyasa in 2014. Over the past four years, Amy has facilitated seven teacher trainings in the Mid-South, with over fifty graduates.

Michael will lead our two final weekends in GPVY– Gannon Power Vinyasa Yoga. Michael Gannon is one of the shining stars of international teachers in the area of yoga and transformation.  His rare understanding and unique teaching style of the original vinyasa system supports the idea that yoga’s awakening powers — physical, mental and spiritual — are available to all, slowly, slowly, through daily yoga practice.  Gannon is also a long-time student of Ashtanga Vinyasa through his teacher Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and he will lend his perspective to our Ashtanga Vinyasa knowledge while also taking us deeper into advanced practice of Vinyasa Flow yoga. How do we continue to challenge ourselves and our advancing students in the practice? We will cover vinyasa sequencing techniques, assists and Gannon’s philosophy of the practice. Gannon currently lives and teaches out of his Yogaloft studio in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
